Loss to 49ers will not slow Packers down

This past Sunday was not a great day at Lambeau Field.  The Packers, who have been one of the best teams in the NFL for two years now lost to a 49ers team that had too strong of a defense.  While this was a staggering loss that the Pack should learn from, they still are one of the best teams in the league.  The NFL odds will point towards the Packers making the playoffs, and maybe even the Super Bowl, again this year.

Most of the credit for the Packers becoming an elite team in the NFL has to go to Aaron Rodgers.  The replacement of legendary QB Bret Favre, Rodgers stepped in and made an impact immediately.  He has quickly climbed the ranks in the NFL to become arguably the best quarterback in the league.  He can call short check down plays as well as deep bombs that always find their mark and move the game forward.  When it comes to accuracy, Rodgers is in the same league as Brady and Manning.  He is at the top of his game, for sure.

Rodgers targets are no slouches, either.  He has a plethora of players to choose from that will always get the job done.  At the top of the list is Jordy Nelson.  This player came out of nowhere in the Packers Super Bowl win in 2011 and has become an even bigger threat with each passing game.  This is also true of veteran receiver Greg Jennings.  Jennings, much like Nelson, rarely drops a pass and can make awe inspiring plays.  These two, as well as younger players like Randall Cobb and Jermichael Finley, will certainly make an impact this coming year in Green Bay.

With a subpar defense, the Packers need to take to the air this season to maintain their dominance.  With a quarterback like Aaron Rodgers and wide outs like Jordy Nelson and Greg Jennings, they can certainly do that.
