Packers Ready For This Sunday

If one thing is for certain in week 4, it’s that the Packers are going to be hungry for a win.  After an extremely controversial call on Monday Night Football this past week, the Packers are looking at a 1-2 record.  They need to get back on track quickly if they want a chance to reach the playoffs this year.  Fortunately for them, they have a relatively easy match up this week against a struggling New Orleans Saints team.

One person that is certainly looking to turn his season around this week is one Aaron Rodgers.  The Green Bay quarterback has not looked like his old self all season and has not been playing up to an elite level.  The Saints defense looks horrendous this season, however, so Rodgers could see his first break out match up this weekend.  The main problem with Rodgers so far has been the defenses he has had to go up against.  Between the 49ers, Bears and Seahawks, he has been playing D’s at the top of their game.  He will be able to rest easy Saturday night knowing he has the Saints on Sunday.

Speaking of defenses, the Packers D will need to stay sharp if they do not want to turn the game into a shootout between Rodgers and Saints QB Drew Brees.  The Packers have not looked terrible this season on the defensive side of the ball, but that means nothing going against someone like Brees.  He may be able to get the ball moving much more than the Packers like if they do not pressure him enough early in the game.

The NFL odds have the Packers at -7.5 this week, which can be a risky bet provided the fact that the Saints can score points.  They will need to get to Brees and Rodgers needs to get back to his old form if they wish to have a succeeding effort in week 4.
